NZIEEA - 2023 Annual Summary


2023 is coming to an end. Let us review the work results of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association this year!



Since 2023, COVID 19 has gradually subsided, and China has begun to gradually reopen its doors. This will undoubtedly play a huge role in promoting the work of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association.

Students and parents from China can come to New Zealand more conveniently and participate in study abroad and micro-study abroad activities. At the same time, the leaders of the association also get more opportunities to visit China and conduct educational exchanges.

This will provide more opportunities and possibilities for the work of NZIEEA, and also bring new opportunities for the deepening and development of educational cooperation between the two countries.

Looking back on this year, NZIEEA has achieved many results. This included two visits by association leaders to more than 10 provinces across China for educational exchanges and cooperation. In the middle of the year, many primary and secondary schools in New Zealand welcomed the first batch of Chinese students to experience micro-study abroad since COVID 19.



March & April:

From March 1st to April 16th, NZIEEA members and the leader of schools came to China for an educational exchange trip.

The main provinces involved in this educational exchange trip are Guangdong, Guangxi, Beijing , Liaoning, and Zhejiang.

  •  Guangdong

    NZIEEA conducted in-depth educational exchanges with local schools in several major cities in Guangdong, and also held education-related seminars with parents. At the same time, we met with the New Zealand Consulate General in Guangzhou to discuss the Chinese market and seek opportunities for cooperation and exchange.



  •  Guangxi

    We signed a friendship agreement with a middle school in Guangxi and conducted workshops with hundreds of students from the school. Students are very eager to study in New Zealand.

  •  Beijing

    We met and exchanged ideas with the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing. After the meeting, we visited the Great Wall and had a pleasant exchange with a local school in Beijing. Finally, we met with some parents and students in Beijing to introduce them to the New Zealand education model.




  •  Liaoning

    We held a successful educational exchange meeting with some parents and students in Liaoning. At the same time, we also visited an international school in Liaoning and had full exchanges with their principal and international department teachers.



  •  Zhejiang

    We held parent meetings and exchanges in two major cities in Zhejiang Province. Parents and students were very enthusiastic and looked forward to studying in New Zealand. At the same time, we also visited schools that have signed sister school agreements.




July& August:

Starting in July 2023, the New Zealand micro-study abroad activities that everyone has been eagerly awaiting will return. Several New Zealand schools in the association organized and hosted the first micro-study abroad activities after the epidemic. Auckland is cool and humid in July. As soon as they got off the plane, the students fell in love with the city of Auckland, and their faces showed their deep anticipation and excitement for the micro-study abroad activity.



The students arrived at their homestay families after about half an hour's drive. Each host family is carefully selected by the school for the students. The parents of the host family are warm and hospitable, and they quickly become familiar with the students.

Through just a few weeks of boarding life, each student has improved his or her self-care ability and English proficiency to varying degrees, and at the same time, the students have established deep friendships with their host families.



On the first day of school, the school held a grand welcome ceremony for the students. The students enjoyed the wonderful Maori performance and the welcome speech given by the school leaders. Afterwards, the students entered the classroom and soon got to know the local students and made many good friends.




In addition, in order to allow students to quickly improve their English in a short period of time, the school specially arranges ESOL classes for students.



The school also held cultural exchange activities for students, which enabled Chinese students to have more in-depth exchanges with local students.



During the micro-study abroad activities, students not only experienced the colorful campus life at school, but the teachers who led the team also arranged many extracurricular activities for the students. These include visits to Auckland's zoo, botanic gardens, craft escapes and farm tours.







The micro-study abroad activities in just a few weeks are coming to an end, and the students held a graduation ceremony for them. Each student received their own certificate of completion.



This micro-study abroad activity is not only a study abroad experience for students, but also an unforgettable, happy and enjoyable trip. The students gained unforgettable memories and long-lasting friendships from their close contact with the nature of New Zealand. Every student is very much looking forward to participating in the next micro-study abroad activity.


September& October:

In this golden autumn season, members of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association visited China again. This trip in China lasted for more than a month, involving the Guangxi, Hebei, Shaanxi, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Liaoning, and launched a series of diversified and rich international educational exchange activities, which provided a good foundation for China. Educational exchanges between New Zealand and New Zealand have built an important bridge.

  •  Guangxi

    新The New Zealand International Education Exchange Association participated in the education joint exhibition held in Guangxi, actively displayed New Zealand's educational concepts and high-quality educational resources, and conducted in-depth discussions with educational institutions, etc., promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in the field of education, and providing students with opportunities to study in New Zealand. More opportunities and choices.



  •  Hebei

    The New Zealand International Education Exchange Association has reached further cooperation with some schools in Hebei under the witness of the education department, and signed friendly cooperation agreements with many schools, building a solid bridge for educational exchanges between China and New Zealand and providing Chinese students with and educational institutions to provide more opportunities to learn about and choose New Zealand’s educational resources

  •  Shaanxi

    Shaanxi is new to the association. Members of the association visited local schools in Shaanxi Province and had in-depth exchanges. At the same time, members of the association also visited scenic spots and historic sites in Shaanxi Province.



  •  HongKong

    In Hong Kong, members of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association had in-depth exchanges with members of the Consulate General of New Zealand in Hong Kong, further promoting the connection and cooperation between New Zealand educational resources and Hong Kong. At the same time, members of the association communicated with a local school in Hong Kong, introducing New Zealand's high-quality educational resources to more Hong Kong students and parents.



  •  Shanghai

    In Shanghai, members of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association and members of the New Zealand Consulate General in Shanghai discussed the publicity and promotion of New Zealand's international education, providing an important impetus for more Chinese students to understand and choose New Zealand's high-quality educational resources.




  •  Zhejiang

    In Zhejiang Province, association members visited many partners, parents and friends. At the same time, association members are also exploring more cooperation opportunities in Zhejiang Province.



  •  Liaoning

    Members of the association visited some students and parents who were about to go to New Zealand in these two key cities in Liaoning. At the same time, they also visited an international school in the province and had in-depth exchanges with the principal of the school.





Conclusion:

Looking back on the whole year, the members of the New Zealand International Education Exchange Association, with full enthusiasm and rigorous work attitude, went all out to carry out the first micro-study abroad activities since the epidemic and visited China multiple times. The association has achieved fruitful results. The association has conducted in-depth exchanges and cooperation with the embassy and consulates of China in New Zealand, Chinese schools and some educational institutions, and has contributed to the educational exchanges between China and New Zealand. In next year's work plan, the association will continue to explore the Chinese market. We believe that with the joint efforts of all parties, the educational cooperation between China and New Zealand will usher in a better future!
